I have been into using different things this month, and so the majority of them became my favourites for the month of August.
The first make up product I discovered this month was the Too Faced LashGASM mascara, this definitely lengthens my lashes so much so it almost looks like I have lash extensions on. I will be posting a review on this mascara soon, so be sure to follow my blog on bloglovin' to see when that is posted.
Next was the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads, I brought this when I brought the cleanser but it was not until the beginning of this month that I started to use it. The pads are essentially thinner cotton pads which are soaked in the product, I just use one pad every other night and whilst the smell is a tad bit chemical/alcohol-y, the results are great, it exfoliates whilst keeping those pesky minuscule break outs at bay. Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover, it is an old favourite of mine that I started to use in conjunction with the TooFaced LashGASM mascara, because it is oil based, it makes it much easier to remove my mascara without pulling my lashes from the root, as it is much more gentle, it really reminds me of the Boots Botanics eye make up remover, that I used to love years ago!
I have been gravitating towards my Bobbi Brown Cool Smokey palette, but more specially the darkest shade called Caviar, it is a black matte shade, so I have been using this to create a smokey and softer looking eyeliner, like all Bobbi Brown eyeshadows, it is so easy to blend and it is very long lasting without the need for a primer. Unfortunately, this was a limited edition palette that came out during Christmas so I doubt you can buy the shade individually, but Caviar normally pops up in limited edition palettes quite often!
Next are two NARS products, which I have fallen back in love with again.
The first is NARS powder blush in Deep Throat (again with the explicit names), because this is a mini deluxe sample, I tend to forget I have this individually (I have it in a palette too) and so it is unloved compared to other blushers I have. Deep Throat (ahem!) is supposedly a shimmery peach shade but personally I find it to be pink, almost like Orgasm from NARS but with no chunky glitter. I have been loving wearing this during the beginning of August when it was still hot out, since it just gave a healthy glow to the skin.
The second product is the NARS bronzing powder in Laguna, whenever I reach for a bronzer, I always reach for this one, I just know it will work for me no matter what. Laguna is a brown shade with hints of shimmer running through it, although when I apply this to my skin I cannot see the shimmer at all! It helps to create a definite bronzed goddess look (minus the goddess - haha!) without looking muddy or even orange on my skin. Hands down one of the best bronzer's I have used ever!

If I said to buy one NARS blush, it would be Deep Throat, it just seems to work well with everyone I have tried it on, no matter what their skin tone was.

A few blog posts ago, I mentioned that I popped into the Benefit Boutique in Covent Garden (click here if you wish to read that post), while I was there I was matched to my correct shade in the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation, and I decided to wait a while before I purchased the foundation to see how it really wears on my skin. Well on Saturday, I went back and I decided to pick it up.
I have a tendency to break out whenever I get matched with foundation (ahem, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua...I loved the finish and the feel but it broke me out horribly on the area I was tested, but I am still convinced it was not because of the foundation...even though it's happened twice now) but with this foundation, it covered up my redness without looking heavy on my skin, however I did find it to look a little too dewy but again, I put it down to how much foundation the sales associate put on me, after blotting with some tissue (along with removing at least one layer of foundation) I found it look seamless and I did not have the issue with looking too dewy during the day.
I left the foundation on all day (from about 1:30pm to 10pm) and it did not settle into any lines nor did it look greasy so I had no need to use any powder.

I was matched to the shade 'I'm all the rage - beige' which is perfect for my NC35/37 summer skin tone, I am normally a NC25/30 during the winter time. Like I said before, when the sales associate was applying the foundation, I could instantly see the redness on my cheeks vanish and to be honest that was one of the selling points for me.
Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation is completely lightweight, which is perfect for the hotter months as it does not feel heavy on your skin whatsoever, it is also oil-free which is great if you have oily skin. It is also marketed as being brightening and I do agree, it does make your skin glow.

Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation is £26.50 for 30ml, so it is definitely not cheap but it is not too expensive.

Make up brushes have become a vital part of my make up routine, I cannot think how I would not apply my make up without using them, so today I thought I would show you my all time favourites (of right now).
Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki: A cult face brush for so many people and I can see why. This is hands down my favourite brush for applying concealer. By pressing the concealer into the skin, it provides extra coverage and looks seamless.
Sigma F30 Large Powder Brush: I love using this brush for applying powder along my T-zone, it is so large and less dense so applying powder feels like a dream. I also really like to use this to help blend my bronzer and blush, just so there are no harsh lines present.
Real Techniques Blush Brush: This may seem similar to the Sigma F30, but it is slightly tapered and so it works great for applying bronzer/blush, not so much for contouring but to warm up the face, it is great.
Real Techniques Stippling Brush: This is much more dense, like the Sigma F80, but I find this much more easier to work for foundation, I simply apply my foundation on the back of my hand and I dot it (with the brush) on my face, I then blend my foundation with the brush and it helps to provide an even finish. It is also much easier to add more layers, without looking cakey, when necessary and I found I have to use less product when I use this brush.
Sigma E65 Small Angled Brush: This is my go to for both my brows and for applying gel liner, because it is so small it is perfect to have complete control of the brush when applying gel liner, also because it is so small, applying powder for my brows is easier because I can create small strokes with this brush.
MAC 217 Blending Brush: Whenever I wear eyeshadow, this is my go-to brush for blending, it just works every time - a must for everyone's make up brush stash.
Sigma E40 Tapered Brush: I have been using this for highlighting my brow bone, cheek bone and cupid's bow lately, and I really like the way it blends out. I also find I use less product than I normally would do.
EcoTools Spoolie Brush: A definite essential for anyone's make up bag, I used this whenever I need to 'groom' my brows. Unfortunately, I can not find this specific spoolie online, but any spoolie would do, again this is a must for everyone's brush stash, it is very much overlooked and not considered by many but I honestly cannot live without it.

That is pretty much it for my current Make Up Brush Edit, I have a feeling that this would not change for some time, as I feel like I have all the brushes I would ever need.

When I was walking around Covent Garden the other day, I came across a Benefit Cosmetics Boutique and I just had to go in. There is something about the Benefit Boutique's that I just love, it is so girly and fun that just seems to invite me in, I always love walking and looking around in the Boutiques, one of the great things is that the sales associates are not pushy, they allow you to have a look but you know they are there when you need them.
I picked up a few things when I was there, the first was the new hydrating tinted lip balm in the shade Lollibalm.
Lollibalm is described as 'candy orchid' and I agree, although it is not purple when swatched, it is a cool toned pink which is sheer but it can be built up. Lollibalm is considered to be the sister product of Lollitint, now although I do not have Lollitint, I was told that by using both in conjunction with one another, it creates a more intense colour, which makes sense.

Personally, my lips are fairly pink anyways so by using Lollibalm on top, it does create a more intense shade, without looking purple. I tend to have issues with tinted lip balms drying out my lips, which defeats the purpose I guess, however Lollibalm contains mango butter and sodium hyaluronate, which helps to penetrate the skin and hold onto the moisture.
Plus the packaging does not disappoint when it comes to Benefit, it feels expensive and it even looks expensive! Each tinted lip balm matches the corresponding tint, so each are different which helps to differentiate one another.

Benefit Lollibalm Tinted Lip Balm retails for £14.50 and I think I might pick up another shade soon!

A Marc Jacobs Pop Up Store, where you have a chance to win stuff just by using the hashtag #MJDaisyChain - sounds too good to be true? Well it isn't!
There you can browse the store, get manicures, quench your thirst with free drinks and obviously use the hashtag #MJDaisyChain with the free WiFi whilst you're there to win stuff - mini fragrances, accessories, clothing and maybe even a Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag!
The MJ Tweet Shop is effortlessly designed, just look at the art work that was hanging on the wall when I went there today!
I simply showed my tweet, which included the hashtag #MJDaisyChain and I got a free MJ Daisy Dream keychain and a mini sample of the perfume!
I also got a free manicure from the nail bar (which is where you can see the ladies heads from the photo above), I chose a beautiful hot pink shade from the Marc Jacobs Beauty nail polish range.

It is open from the Friday 15th August to Saturday 16th August at 10am - 8pm and Sunday 17th August at 10am - 6pm, the Daisy Marc Jacobs Tweet Shop is open to the public - 4 East Piazza, Covent Garden, WC2E 8HD.

(Unfortunately, I forgot my camera at home so I had to use my iPhone to take photos - sorry for the quality!)

I have a tendency to buy products and just wait until the equivalent product has finished before I use it, doing so I forget what I have and how great the products may be. This has happened again, but with an old favourite duo, I am talking about my favourite nail duo by Butter LONDON.
The Butter LONDON Hardwear top coat, used to be my go to before I came across the Seche Vite topcoat, and I honestly do not know why I stopped using this. It is much thinner in consistency and so you use less product but it also means it dries much more quickly. I noticed that, unlike the Seche Vite topcoat, Butter LONDON Hardwear does not 'shrink' my nail polish, which is a huge plus.

And if you are wondering, the P.D.Q on the bottle stands for 'Pretty Darn Quick'!

The Butter LONDON Nail Foundation, is not the same as the OPI Original Nail Envy, but it does help provide an more even coverage when using nail polish, unlike the Original Nail Envy. It dries down to an almost silky matte finish, which helps your nail polish to 'stick' to your nails more efficiently, as there are no unnecessary oils which would normally interfere. It also hides and smoothes any ridges or imperfections on your nails, almost like a foundation.

Also all Butter LONDON are 3 Free which means that all their nail polishes are free from formaldehyde, toluene and DBP. Recently Butter LONDON released a new topcoat and basecoat which provides a gel like finish, and when I have finished using these two.

I am a little late posting my favourites for the month of July but I have just been so busy these past two weeks, I did not have the time to actually sit down and write a blog post, so without further ado, here is what I have been loving for the month of July.

I have been looking for a new cleanser this month and so I decided to buy the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser, which is perfect for my sensitive and dry skin. I have a hard time finding a gentle but effective cleanser and this did not disappoint me, it did not flare up my eczema which I tend to get on my cheeks. I have been wearing a lot of make up these past few weeks to the week of my cousin's wedding and so I dug through my make up stash and found my Laura Mercier foundation primer and the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, these two were a god send for me since we have had a crazy heatwave here in London, my foundation would slip and slide off my face (which I have not had an issue with before) and by using these two in conjunction with one another was perfect. The Laura Mercier Foundation Primer just made applying my foundation so much easier and the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray made my make up to stay all day.
I have been using MAC Hibiscus Kiss Powder Duo non stop this month, the blush looks a little scary when swatched but when applied with the Real Techniques Blush Brush, it looks lovely. It seems to give off a glow, plus the bronzer is great, it is not muddy nor does it have any shimmer/glitter running through it.
MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Ice, which was from the Apres Chic Collection for Spring 2013, has been a rediscovery for me this month. I have been using this as a highlight instead of an eyeshadow this month, I simply pop it on my cheekbones and my cupid's bow and instantly, it just gives off a sheen. Unfortunately, I do not think you can get this anymore but MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle is very similar.
The MAC Morning Mister Magpie Brow Duo, more specifically the darkest shade (Brun) is what I have been using for my eyebrows. My eyebrows are naturally dark and full but I have some sparse areas towards the centre and so purchasing this duo this month was probably the best purchase I have made from MAC in a long time! It is just so handy and the shade is perfect for my eyebrows.
When digging through my make up stash, I found this lip crayon by Urban Decay in Lovechild, it is a cool pink with blue undertones, and is super glossy. I have no idea how I forgot about this lip crayon but I am glad I found it again, I have been wearing this non stop this month and I have even had compliments about it - which never happens!

That is pretty much what I have been loving for the month of July and if I told you to buy one thing from this, it would be the Urban Decay Super Saturated lip colour in Lovechild.
