THE ROUND UP | 2014

I know many people are going to say where has 2014 gone?!? And honestly, I am going to have to agree with them, 2014 literally flew by! Having said that, I found so many different new beauty products this year and so I thought I would show you all my favourite 14 products for the year of 2014.
I purchased the new Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream in October and I have been wearing it non stop since, if you liked the original Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume then you need to smell this. It is a more fresh and cleaner version of the original but it is not overpowering. I also decided to give in the hype and I brought the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer, I have two shades, one in Custard (medium 1) which I use under my eyes to help brighten that area up a little and the second is Ginger (medium 2) which I use on any blemishes or red areas on my face. These concealers are high coverage but they are not cakey at all!
Sticking with NARS, I also brought two of products from the Christmas collection this year, the first is the Virtual Domination cheek palette, which is just a great on-the-go palette, I have been using the shade Deep Throat everyday since I brought it. I also picked up the NARS Digital World lip pencil coffret and whilst all the shades are lovely, I have been wearing Descanso and Torres Del Paine a lot more. For the majority of the year my go to blush has been the MAC Extra Dimension blush in Sea Me Hear Me, now even though this blush was limited edition I think all the MAC Extra Dimension blushes are brilliant.
This year I also discovered Bite Beauty since Sephora started to ship to the UK, I have posted two Sephora hauls here and here, if you want to have a read, but all of the Bite Beauty lip products I brought I have loved, they are all so creamy and pigmented, they are definitely worth the hype! I also discovered the Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Trooper this year too, which literally lasts all day and does not budge. I also rediscovered my love for Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On pencils, I have used the shade Perversion to tightline and it works wonders, it lasts all day too! The Soap & Glory Archery Brow pencil has been my favourite brow product to use this year, it is a great dupe for the Anastasia Brow Wiz and I highly recommend it.
This year I also rediscovered lipliners, two have stood out to me this year and they are both by MAC. The first is MAC Soar which is one of my all time favourites and I don't know why I stopped using it, the other is MAC Subculture is a great all round nude lipliner. This year I came across KIKO and the Daring Game collection was just gorgeous! I picked up the Golden Game sculpting bronzer in the shade precious sienna (02) from the collection and this was the only bronzer I used for the rest of the year, it is not muddy nor does it make you look orange, it is the perfect shade. In terms of skincare, I found that two masks stood out to me this year, the first is the hyped up, but worth it, GLAMGLOW masks. I have two from the whole range, the first is the SuperMud Clearing Treatment, which draws out all the oils and impurities from your skin, and the second is that YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment, which is a scrub and mask in one. I found that any under the surface bumps I had disappeared when I used these masks, yes they are very expensive for a mask but they are worth it.The REN Clarimate Invisible Pores Detox mask, is very similar to the GLAMGLOW SuperMud mask in terms that it draws out any impurities from your pores, but I found with this mask your pores are visibly reduced and my skin has never felt smoother - definitely worth picking up!
The HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting powder in Dim Light was the first and currently is the only powder I have from the range, and whilst it does not look special in the pan, it creates a really nice glow to your skin but it does not make you look like a disco ball. I apply this under my eyes and on any high points and it instantly makes my skin look healthy and like it is glowing from within. Definitely worth the money!

Also, I was lucky enough to be contacted by VoucherCodes, who currently have an offer where you can 20% off your first order** on LookFantastic, which I have to say, is pretty fantastic - haha!
2014 was the year of me going out of my comfort zone and experiencing new things. I got to see Justin Timberlake live, and he laughed when he saw my cousin and I screaming like little girls (never thought I would be like that!). I also went to Vegas for my cousins hen and that was an experience in of itself - what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! What did you do in 2014?

  1. I have the Kat Von D Eyeliner, but I prefer the Stila Stay All Day Liner, which I find is blacker and stays even longer! (I have pretty watery/oily eyes.) You can give it a shot some time. :)

    1. I got the Stila Stay All Day liner (in brown) in the set when I got the KatVonD liner too, and I really did like it, even though it was in brown. It definitely stayed all day and when the KatVonD liner finishes, I will try the Stila liner in black, thanks for the recommendation :) x

  2. Bite Beauty is one of my favorite brands for lipsticks, their minis are a great way to try them and not break the bank.

    1. The mini's are great and I always get asked what I'm wearing whenever I wear them. They need to come to the UK and like you said, they do not break the bank! x

  3. I've never tried any NARS products, they are always pricier than I would like. Are they worth it though? There are tons of products by them that I have tested in store and they are always so lovely. How is the staying power of their lip products? Also, that hourglass powder (in my opinion) looks lovely in the pan, so it must look even better on!

    1. The hourglass powder is lovely and somehow it works brilliantly at brightening/highlighting. It is expensive for a powder but I don't see myself buying anymore since this one works well for me.

As for NARS, every product I've tried from them I've loved. I really like the lip pencils and the new Audacious lipsticks (I only have the shade 'Anita' and I really like it). They do last for a while on the lips (on me, I would say about 3-4hours depending on the finish, the satin matte lip pencils last longer). As for their lip glosses, I am not too fond of them since they are really sticky, I have two and I wouldn't buy anymore from the range. NARS is pricey but I suggest look/test the products in person so you get a better idea of them. I hope this helps!! :) x

    1. Hahaha oh thank you! I'm picky when it comes to products (since I have dry and sensitive skin - worse combo ever!) so everything I put on my blog has taken a lot of thought, time and consideration. As for the MJ perfume, I highly suggest you pick one up for yourself, you won't be disappointed.. :D x
